Chapter of Neurologists

Neurologists are physicians who diagnose and treat disorders of the nervous system which may impair the function of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles, as well as the blood vessels that relate to these parts of the body. These disorders may present as altered consciousness, headache, numbness, pain, loss of movement, speech or memory.  Some of the more common disorders managed by Neurologists include epilepsy, migraine, neuropathies, multiple sclerosis, myopathies, stroke, Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's Disease.  Neurology is a subspecialty of Internal Medicine.
